This website aims to inform you about the practice and the services it provides. If you feel you need more information please feel free to contact the Buxted or East Hoathly medical centres, where a member of staff will be happy to help you.
The practice is a five doctor partnership providing a full range of services and facilities for NHS patients. We are contracted to the HWCCG (High Weald Clinical Commissioning Group).
We are a training practice. As well as the regular doctors, we sometimes have qualified doctors working with us for up to 12 months, who are learning about general practice. Consultations are sometimes videoed and inspection of medical records is undertaken for training purposes only. We also have assistants who work part time for family reasons and sometimes locum doctors are employed to cover staff absence.
We are a dispensing practice and are able to dispense medicines to all of our patients. We now have our in house pharmacy which can sell over the counter medication such as Paracetamol and Ibuprofen.
The medical centre's opening hours are 08:00-18:30 hours, but the phone lines are closed 1- 2pm and after 6pm Monday - Friday, when the phone lines are closed patients can contact a doctor urgently by phoning the number given on the message.
If you have an accident and as a result have a non life threatening injury, please consider the local minor injury walk in centres. These centres have x-ray facilities and are staffed by nurses who will assess you, and treat if possible or advise you to attend the local Accident and Emergency department. You could also contact NHS 111 or your GP for advice.
A&E Departments are very busy and treat life threatening and seriously ill patients first. Due to this you could have a very long time to wait to receive treatment. For further advice on whether A&E is the correct place for you to seek medical attention, please look at the A&E BOOKLET.
